But it’s just good music if you can feel it in your soul.” —Tim McGraw This funky guitar quilt hangs where I see it often. It was one of my first art quilts and the largest art quilt I’ve ever made at 45”x 35”. It even won Best in Show at the state fair. 🥇 [Pattern by Robbie Joy Elklow + appliqué with free motion quilting] #igquiltfest2021 #igquiltfest2021day17 #igquiltfest #quilte
  • @experiencethequilt posted to Instagram: This piece titled "Reflections" is such a strong representation of womanhood. On #internationalwomensday, it is such a joy to watch the celebration of women light up social media. It is a beautiful moment to reflect on the women before us, the women among us, and those who hold the future in their hands. Cheers to each of you. May you always know your priceless worth. 💖 Check out our IG Stories for more project details. #quilterso
  • This quilt is as magnificent as the real bird! With applique, dense quilting, glitter thread and Swarovski crystals I pulled out all the stops. #experiencethequilt #quilting #applique #glitterthread #Swarovskicrystals #densequilting #e2equilting
  • This fun, applique quilt will help anyone get in the Spirit of the season. The quilting pattern is called Let it Snow. Don't you love that the small snowflakes look like they are falling on the tree? #experiencethequilt #e2equilting #quilting #Christmas #applique #letitsnow
  • Wanteda table runner for my dining room. Love my rusted fabrics with these blue fabrics. I think the diamond quilting really makes the whole quilt pop.
  • Wanted to make a reminder to put on my mirror to help me remember to look for God’s light every day. I didnt quilt it cause it was so small. I just used fabric adhesive.
  • A fun experiment made years ago when I was trying out couching on my domestic machine. Inspired by the jewel on the top of the tree that was a piece of costume jewelry that my mother gave me. #experiencethequilt #couchingonquilts #couching #longarmquilting #artquilt #ETQ #Quilt #Quilting #Christmasquilt #Christmas
  • Lots of embellishments made this into a unique art quilt. Fabric paint, metallic thread, Angelina fibers, thread painting, beads, long arm quilting, and Lamé fabric melted with a heat gun. I was inspired by a photo online and in 2 days it just came together
  • I pieced the quilt and quilted it all then I painted branches and a trunk with fabric paint. Couched down 5 different brown yarns over the paint. Then glued on wool felted balls of different colors that I bought online.
  • A bunch of circles in different batiks individually quilted then sewn together to hang on the wall. I wanted to have the look of a cathedral window pattern. An interesting art quilt.
  • Made in 2006 but I still love it. Applique Quilt. Pattern by Robbie Joy Eklow. Free motion quilted by Amy Carter
  • One of my favorite all time quilts. It's a show stopper. Fabric paint and oil sticks on a dark navy batik. It was an experiment that worked the 1st time! You don't always get so lucky.
  • A smaller quilt measuring 10"x10". 3D petals sewn into a fabric background and more petals added in a crazy fringy metallic fabric. I love this technique.
  • A great way to take out frustrations is to cut up fabric into tiny pieces with your rotary cutter and sprinkle them onto a foundation then place tulle over the top and quilt til it all stays down. The vibrations from my machine didn't let the little yellow pieces stay in place. Hmmm....
  • Working on my shattered vase. Adding some beading tonight. I don’t always love the slowness of beading but I love the effect. #artquilt #artquilts #quilt #quilting #shatteredvase #handpainted #fabric #beadwork #beading #experiencethequilt
  • Armor of God wallhanging. For my oldest son on his own at college. It’s been in my brain percolating for 5 years. Thinking about making a pattern for others to make. What do you think? #artquilt #longarmquilter #quiltsofinstagram #quilting #armorofgod
  • A quick improve artsy pumpkin. I cut several strips of fabric from about 6 different fabrics and just started sewing them onto the top. Till it made a shape I liked.
  • This is “Standout” made for my mom’s 80th birthday. All designed, appliqued and custom quilted by me. Fabrics are satins, cottons, tafetas, silks, and a few handpainted by me. #appliquequilt #applique #quilting #quiltingismytherapy #artquilt #peacock #sparkly #threads #fabric #freemotionquilting. #handiquilter
